About Richard McGibbon Photography

I have been working as a semi-professional photographer since 2006 though I have been taking photos since I was a child. My main interest lies in the fields of alternative sports, landscape and travel (or even better a mix of all 3).

I have shot both editorial and commercial work. As clichéd as it may sound, I love taking photos and love the challenges that comes with it. I am easy to work with but am focussed on the job at hand. I am my own harshest critic with my photography and, as such, am constantly looking for ways to improve my work and provide the best result I can. However in the end I understand that it is the clients needs that must come first.

My photographs won the 2008 St. Anton Photo Awards taking 1st place in the Landscape category and 1st place in the Action category. In 2009 I won a special award for action outstanding action photograph. In 2011 I won a bronze award in the Epson International Pano Awards. I have a diploma in journalism and use writing as another way to document my travels.

I also shoot adventure racing on a casual basis for Aurora Images
